Approximately 90% of the young people we serve stay in school and remain on track to graduation.
One of the primary reasons for CIS's success is its volunteers. A meaningful one-on-one relationship with an adult goes a long way in keeping a
young student in school and on-track for graduation. By becoming a mentor, you can become the special person in a young student's life. You can make
a real difference.
Tutors are needed to assist students who have fallen behind in their course work. Tutors are needed in all subjects, but especially in math.
Tutoring is done on an as-available, as-needed basis. From time-to-time other administrative volunteer opportunities become available.
